Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can expect learning which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
